  • Up for sale is a 1973 Audi 100 GL, a classic example of Audi’s engineering and design from the early 70s, finished in a striking red metallic exterior with a complementary brown interior. This vehicle has covered just 81,242 kilometers, making it a rare find with low mileage for its age. Under the hood, it’s equipped with a 1.9-liter engine producing 112 horsepower, paired with an automatic transmission. This Audi does not come with air conditioning, staying true to its original specifications.

This particular Audi 100 GL has a unique history. It was purchased new in 1973 as a demo car for a dealership in IJmuiden, The Netherlands. When the dealership switched brands in 1985, the car was repainted and placed into storage, where it remained until 2018 when it was discovered as a “barn find.” Since then, significant TLC has been invested to bring this classic back to life, with various overhauls and tasteful modifications.

The brakes and engine have both been overhauled, ensuring the car runs smoothly and stops with confidence. The exterior was repainted, restoring its vibrant red metallic finish, while the body remains in remarkably good condition, preserved with Tectyl back in 1973. Notably, this car didn’t require any welding, a testament to its preservation and care over the years. Despite its age, the car remains a survivor rather than a complete rebuild, showing some signs of use that add to its character.

Modifications to the car include a manual air ride system with TA Technics struts, complete with digital height displays made with sensors and Arduino’s, offering a modern touch to this vintage ride. The wheels have been converted to 17” three-piece steel, adding a subtle yet impactful upgrade to its stance. The car also features French headlights, USA rear lights, bumpers without rubber, and a front spoiler from an Audi Type C2, enhancing its overall aesthetic and driving appeal.
