This 2000 Rover Mini Cooper Sport is finished in Tahiti Blue with silver roof and bonnet stripes over a black and silver leather interior, showing 12,250 miles. The 1,275 cc four-cylinder pairs with a four-speed manual gearbox. Richard Williams first bought the car in 2011 from a retired gentleman who had always kept it garaged, then sold it to the gentleman's nephew, who owned it for the following 15 years as part of a car collection and kept it garaged throughout. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with the original book pack, both sets of keys, a history file supporting the mileage, and a 30-photo gallery.
The Tahiti Blue paint is complemented by silver stripes over the roof and bonnet. The seller describes the condition as excellent and reports that the paintwork is approximately 90 percent factory original, with no paintwork carried out in the last 15 years. The car rides on wheels fitted with four new Yokohama A539 tires, and four auxiliary driving lamps are mounted ahead of the chrome grille.
Inside, black and silver leather seats pair with a leather-trimmed steering wheel. The cabin carries the factory-upgrade Rover CD player, a desirable option the seller notes. The seller describes the interior as excellent.
The 1,275 cc A-series four-cylinder is rated at 63 hp, driving the front wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. Since collecting the car, the seller has fitted four new Yokohama A539 tires and carried out a full service. The car retains its original exhaust, and the seller reports that it drives very well, as befits 12,250 miles from new.
The Rover Mini Cooper Sport was among the final iterations of the classic Mini, built as Rover wound down production of a car in continuous production since 1959. Late Cooper Sports with low mileage and largely original paint are increasingly sought as the definitive end-of-line Minis.
