This 1992 TVR Griffith Precat is finished in Cooper Green over a full leather interior in forest green and Irish mist. Showing 77,448 miles, it is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 with gas-flowed heads, rated by the seller at around 250 bhp, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The last owner kept the car for 30 years. It is now offered by Open Air Imports in Wotton-under-Edge, England, with an MOT to July 2027 and a 20-photo gallery.
The car has been resprayed in its original Cooper Green. The very rare factory-fit OZ split-rim alloy wheels were split, diamond cut and polished. The body was partially lifted and the outriggers replaced; while that work was done the brake lines, fuel lines, discs and pads were renewed and a TVR aluminium racing radiator was fitted. The seller reports that the entire chassis was sanded back, treated against rust and then coated.
The cabin was fully retrimmed in the last eight or nine years in forest green and Irish mist full leather with dark green Wilton carpets. The dashboard was replaced with a polished walnut unit, the heating and ventilation were uprated, and the centre console controls are now LED-lit. The car was the subject of a feature article in the TVR Sprint magazine of October 2020.
The Griffith was the car that relaunched TVR in the early 1990s, and the Precat cars — built before catalytic converters were required — are the earliest and rawest of the line. A 30-year-ownership example with this depth of chassis and trim work is a rare find.
