This 1984 Volkswagen T25 is a right-hand-drive Devon poptop camper showing 80,000 miles, finished in blue over white. It retains its original 1.9-liter water-cooled flat-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and the seller — who bought it from a garage five years ago — has kept it on the Isle of Man, using it for weekend camping trips. Proof-of-ownership and service-history images accompany the sale along with a 16-photo gallery, and it is now offered by Open Air Imports.
The seller reports the van was professionally repainted during their ownership, and the two-tone paintwork presents well in the photographs, with straight panels and bright trim. It rides on new alloy wheels fitted with new tires, and the seller notes the original wheels can be included if the buyer prefers. The registration plates have been obscured in the photographs.
Inside, the camper was refitted by the seller with new insulation, door cards, cabinets, and wood-effect flooring, and every seat — including the rock-and-roll bed — was professionally reupholstered. The galley is fitted with a sink and copper tap, and the van carries 360-degree curtains plus thermal window covers, a leisure battery, and a captain's swivel front seat. The Devon poptop raises to sleep four adults, and a fitted cover comes with the van, which the seller says has always been garaged or kept covered.
Recent mechanical work reported by the seller includes a new starter motor, wheel bearings, front nearside brake caliper, water pump, fuel pump, and throttle cable. The seller describes the underside as solid and Waxoyl-treated, and reports no known mechanical faults. The van is offered because a house purchase has forced the sale, leaving no room to store it.
The T25 — the third-generation Transporter, sold as the Vanagon in North America — was the last of Volkswagen's rear-engined vans, built from 1979 to 1992. British Devon conversions rank among the best-known period camper fitments, and the early water-cooled 1.9-liter models like this one mark the point where the old air-cooled line gave way to the modern era.
