This 1980 Mercedes-Benz 280 CE is a C123 coupe built as a historic race car with full road registration. It was raced successfully by Borghoff Racing and has since been rebuilt on a new bare shell regardless of cost. The car holds the German historic H plate and comes with a DMSB race pass, with an FIA pass available as an option.
The engine is the 2.8-litre M110 straight six, rebuilt and uprated by Väth, and the seller states it is still in its running-in phase. The odometer shows 101 km since the rebuild. The gearbox is manual, the car is finished in silver, and invoices for the work are on file.
A second set of alloy wheels with race tyres is included in the sale. This is a competition car that can legally be driven on the road, not a standard 280 CE, and it is presented openly on that basis.
The car is offered by Göing Motors in Hannover. Two owners are recorded by the seller.
