This 1976 Triumph TR6 is finished in Java Green over a black interior, showing 23,483 miles. Its 2.5-litre inline six is rated at 114 hp in the seller's specification and drives the rear wheels through a manual gearbox with overdrive. An original American-market car that came to the Netherlands by way of Belgium, it is now offered by Open Air Imports in Achthuizen, Netherlands, with an extensive history file, spare parts, a hardtop and a 7-photo gallery.
The seller describes the Java Green paint as the car's original finish, with its original striping, polished through in places over the years, and states that the car is completely solid, with no rust anywhere and no welding ever carried out. It is fitted with a new stainless steel exhaust.
The cabin is trimmed in black vinyl and keeps its original specification throughout, down to the automatic service indicator driven from the speedometer cable, a period detail the seller singles out.
The seller reports that the car's owner, a sheet-metal worker by trade, has gone through the car technically in full: the gearbox and carburettors were overhauled, and the differential, fuel pump and tyres were replaced, along with everything else the car needed. The engine is reported to run beautifully and the car to shift as new, with even the original air pump still fitted and working.
The TR6, built from 1968 to 1976, was the last of Triumph's traditional separate-chassis roadsters and the best-selling of the TR line in its day. Original-paint, unmolested examples are the ones that have become hardest to find.
