This 1975 BMW 2.5 CS is finished in 085 Chamonix White over a Marine Blue velours interior, showing 49,336 km. Delivered new through BMW Belgium in Kontich and first registered on 15 May 1975, this matching-numbers example is unrestored and is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery. A clean Texas title is on file.
The seller describes an exceptionally straight body with sharp lines and perfect panel gaps, repainted years ago to a high standard. The chrome, beltline trim, bumpers, grilles and lights present as new. The car rides on 7x14-inch Alpina-style wheels with new tyres and has a stainless steel exhaust system.
The interior is original and unrestored, from the Marine Blue velours seats to the wood trim, carpets and white headliner. Air conditioning has been fitted using a factory E9 console with a new Sanden compressor, condenser and fan, and the seller reports it blows cold.
The matching-numbers 2.5-liter inline-six has had a major service with engine, transmission and differential oils, a valve adjustment, a new radiator and rebuilt carburetors. The brakes were upgraded to the ventilated 3.0-liter specification with new rotors and pads, and Bilstein shocks are fitted at the front. The seller reports the engine runs smoothly and the four-speed gearbox and differential are quiet.
The 2.5 CS was BMW's response to the 1973 oil crisis, a smaller-engined E9 coupe built for just two years. Only 874 were produced, and an unrestored, low-mileage example is a rare find.
