This 1973 Volkswagen Beetle 1300 Cabriolet is a restored Karmann-built convertible showing 52,313 km, finished in light blue over a black interior with a black soft top. The seller reports a restoration supported by a photographic dossier and invoices, describes the car as being in perfect condition, and states that it drives very well. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery.
The light blue paint, chrome bumpers and steel wheels with chrome hubcaps present as shown in the gallery. The black soft top folds under a boot cover, and a spare wheel is carried in the front trunk.
The black cabin is trimmed in vinyl with a wood-rimmed steering wheel fitted, and a radio is installed. The rear bench folds into the open-top layout that made the Karmann cabriolet the most practical of the Beetle variants.
The 1,285-cc air-cooled flat-four is rated at 44 hp and paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. The restoration is documented in the seller's photo file, which includes the floor and underside work, and the invoices accompany the car.
The Beetle Cabriolet outlived the saloon in production and the 1300 is the sweet spot of the late cars, with the twin-port engine and the fully lined, insulated top. Restored European examples with a documented photo file are the ones to buy.
