  • This 1968 Triumph TR5 PI is finished in red over a black leather interior, showing 26,718 km. Its 2.5-litre inline-six uses Lucas mechanical fuel injection, is rated at 150 hp, and drives the rear wheels through a manual gearbox with overdrive. A right-hand-drive car, it carries the original Surrey top system, and it is now offered by Open Air Imports in Nijlen, Belgium, with a 30-photo gallery.

The seller describes the car as being in beautiful, original and rust-free condition. It rides on chrome wire wheels and is pictured with both parts of the Surrey top: the aluminium hardtop panel fitted, and the matching soft top.

The cabin keeps its original interior, which the seller notes has a lovely patina, with a walnut dashboard, a full set of instruments and a sport steering wheel.

The seller reports recent work that includes a new fuel pump, a new fuel pressure regulator, a complete gearbox overhaul, a new clutch pump, and a full service and comprehensive inspection. An extra electric cooling fan with a sensor and a 12V power outlet are fitted. The seller also reports taking the car on an extensive road trip through the English Lake District, on which it ran beautifully.

The TR5 was built for just over a year, from 1967 to 1968, with 2,947 cars produced for the European market. Its injection engine made it one of the quickest British sports cars of its period, and it was never sold in this form in the United States, where the carburetted TR250 was offered instead.
