This 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda is a restored automatic example showing 4,941 km, finished in dark blue over a dark blue MB-Tex interior with a blue soft top. First registered in July 1968, it pairs the 2,778-cc M130 inline-six, rated at 170 hp, with a four-speed automatic gearbox. The seller reports a restoration carried out a few years ago and regular maintenance since, and the car is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 26-photo gallery.

The seller describes the car's condition, cosmetic and mechanical, as exceptional, and the gallery shows the panel fit, paint and brightwork in detail. Power steering and seat belts are fitted, and a radio is installed.

The cabin is trimmed in dark blue MB-Tex with matching carpets and door cards, wood trim on the console, and the painted dashboard and two-spoke steering wheel of the period.

Recent work reported by the seller is extensive: a full service covering hoses, filters, wiring and the radiator; engine, gearbox and axle oil changes; an overhaul of the fuel system; engine and ignition tuning; new fuel and air filters, seals and hoses; replacement of the instrument wiring; an engine compression check; repair of a current drain; and a complete rebuild of the automatic gearbox.

The 280 SL was the final and most developed of the W113 Pagodas, and the automatic is the specification most were sold in. A restored car with this depth of recent mechanical work is a straightforward route into Pagoda ownership.
