This 1967 Bentley S3 Sedan is finished in silver grey two-tone over a blue grey leather interior, showing 58,311 kilometres. Its 6.2-litre V8 is rated at 250 hp in the seller's specification and drives the rear wheels through an automatic gearbox. This car has been cosmetically converted to Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud specification, with the Rolls-Royce grille, Spirit of Ecstasy mascot and badging; the seller is explicit that the conversion is cosmetic only, the two cars being technically identical, and the car remains a Bentley S3. It is now offered by Open Air Imports in Achthuizen, Netherlands, with its recent service invoices and a written history of the car, and a 29-photo gallery.
The seller first encountered this car on a Rolls-Royce and Bentley club run in the Alsace, where it covered 1,500 kilometres in temperatures above 30 degrees, a trip the seller offers as a fair trial of its technical state. The two-tone paint pairs silver grey with a dark blue bonnet and roof, and the S3's twin-headlamp face is the later, more modern look of the S-series cars.
The cabin is trimmed in blue grey leather with walnut veneer, and equipment includes air conditioning, electric windows front and rear, power steering and a working 8-track player with a large collection of cassettes. The car is a right-hand-drive example.
The seller reports that the car drives excellently, that it has just been serviced at Brabo with the invoices present, and that a written history of the car by Marinus Rijkers accompanies it. The owner is selling because he spends much of his time abroad and the car is driven too little, and the seller has driven it extensively themselves.
The S3 was the final development of Bentley's S-series and shares its engineering with the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III, including the 6.2-litre V8; the seller notes the last series is known for its greater reliability, in particular its cooling. A Silver Cloud-converted car offers that car's presence while remaining, underneath, the Bentley it left Crewe as.
