  • This 1965 Morris Mini Cooper Mk I is a left-hand-drive example showing 45,117 km, finished in red with a white roof over a black leather interior. First registered in August 1965, it carries FBVA identification certificate no. 001252, issued in May 2018, and a Car-Pass history file dating from July 2015. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 25-photo gallery.

The white roof (code WT3) gives the car the look of the works rally cars, and the seller has added long-range driving lamps, a fog lamp and a reversing lamp across the nose. The car rides on Minilite alloy wheels, and the seller notes front disc brakes. The paintwork and brightwork present as shown in the gallery, down to the leather bonnet strap and auxiliary lamp bar.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather with front bucket seats, a folding passenger seat and a spare wheel. A tachometer sits alongside the central speedometer, and a steering-column lock is fitted.

The seller lists the engine as a 948-cc A-series inline-four rated at 45 hp, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. The original SU fuel pump has been replaced with a Facet unit. Invoices on file include an engine overhaul and service in 2019 at 44,645 km totalling €9,950 and a further 2024 invoice of €4,923 plus VAT; a 2018 invoice at 42,438 km covered electrical accessories and a brake master cylinder. The seller reports the car took part in the 2018 Zoute Rally.

The Mk I Cooper was the car that turned Alec Issigonis's packaging exercise into a competition tool, and rally-prepared road cars in this specification, left-hand drive and documented, are seldom offered.
