This 1961 Citroen ID19 is finished in its original AC147 Gris Typhon over an all-original, unrestored interior, showing 25,917 km. A Swiss-delivered ID19P Luxe, first registered on 28 February 1961, the 1.9-liter inline-four is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery. German registration is in place, with the technical inspection valid to 2027.
The car wears its original body panels and mostly its original, thin paint; paint measurements are included in the gallery. It was taken out of traffic in 1992 and imported to southern Germany in 1997, where it stayed in a collector's hands until the seller bought it this year.
Inside, everything is as it left the factory: original cloth, original carpets, original vinyl on the rockers and the original dashboard with its single-spoke steering wheel. The Swiss registration is present, and a 1988 oil-change receipt showing 23,907 km documents the mileage.
The seller reports the engine runs beautifully, the transmission shifts easily and the hydropneumatic suspension performs as it should. The car has been extensively detailed and is presented as it was found, unrestored.
The ID was the simpler, mechanically conventional counterpart to the DS, sharing its hydropneumatic suspension and its shape. First-series cars from 1955 to 1962 are the hardest to find, and an unrestored one with this mileage is rarer still.
