  • This 1958 MG A 1500 Roadster is finished in Glacier Blue, its original colour, over a black leather interior, showing 11,000 km covered since a total engine restoration. The chassis codes confirm the model, the roadster body, the Glacier Blue colour, a North American destination and left-hand drive, and the car retains its original chassis number and factory summary plate, survivals the seller notes are rare. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery.

The Glacier Blue paintwork is paired with a black soft top, and the car rides on 72-spoke chrome wire wheels with a tonneau cover. Imported from the United States, the car was registered in Italy on 29 November 1988, when an official Motorizzazione Civile stamping was added. It stayed with one owner for over twenty years, until October 2010, and passed on 31 January 2011 to the current owner, effectively its second in Italy.

The black leather interior presents as part of a car the seller describes as excellent, mechanically efficient and ready for immediate use with no work needed. It has ASI registration from 2005 and a new ASI Certificato di Rilevanza Storica issued in 2024, and the seller states the car is matching numbers.

The 1,488 cc BMC B-series inline-four runs on twin SU H4 carburettors and is rated at 68 to 72 hp, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. The current owner has documented fifteen years of body and mechanical work with photographs and invoices, the most significant being the total engine restoration, after which the car has attended many gatherings, particularly those of the MG Car Club Italia, which it joined in 2011. Recent work includes a full service with oils and filters, a new battery, a new fuel pump and four new Vredestein tyres, and the biennial inspection is valid to October 2027.

The MGA replaced the upright TF with a streamlined body and a proper chassis in 1955 and became MG's American breakthrough, the great majority of production crossing the Atlantic when new, as this car did.
