This 1954 Triumph TR2 is finished in red over a beige vinyl interior, showing 7,771 miles covered since a full restoration in 2012. It is an early Long Door car, the first-series variant built only in 1953 and 1954 within total TR2 production of about 8,636 cars. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery.

The red paintwork is paired with a beige soft top, and the car rides on wire wheels with windscreen deflectors and a tonneau cover. The seller reports that the 2012 restoration was carried out with close attention to original specification, after which the car was presented to the ASI technical commission, which issued its Certificato di Rilevanza Storica. A British Heritage Certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certifies the original production data, including the chassis and engine numbers and the factory configuration. The car's engine number is far out of sequence with its chassis number, which indicates a replacement engine has been fitted at some point.

The beige vinyl interior is trimmed to the original specification. The car was registered in Italy in 2014 and has since passed the mandatory periodic inspections, from which the mileage progression can be reconstructed.

The 1,991 cc inline-four runs on twin SU carburettors and is rated at about 90 hp, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. The seller presents the car in excellent condition and discloses no defects. As a model produced during the original Mille Miglia period, the TR2 is eligible for the Mille Miglia re-enactment.

The TR2 launched Triumph's TR line with a simple formula of a torquey two-litre four, a separate chassis and cut-down doors, and the Long Door cars, built before the sills were raised in late 1954, are the purest form of the original design.
