  • This 1954 Fiat 1100 103 B was first registered in January 1954 and shows 60,241 km. It has been prepared to a high standard for historic racing, and it is sold two ways at once: as it stands, a competition-prepared car, and with the complete original mechanical set, fully restored, supplied alongside it so it can be returned to full factory specification. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery.

The body shell was fully restored and refinished in the car's original period colour with the correct two-tone scheme. The seller discloses plainly that the engine currently fitted is not the car's original unit: it is a fully rebuilt, tuned G-series engine with new period high-compression pistons, a special camshaft, worked manifolds, a special carburettor and a sports exhaust. The original engine is preserved, fully restored, and included in the sale.

The cabin is currently fitted with vintage OMP sports bucket seats, plexiglass side windows and a 1950s-style sports steering wheel. The complete original interior, restored, is supplied with the car, along with the original front suspension and brakes, the overhauled original rear axle, the original braking system, restored original wheels and the original accessories.

The fitted drivetrain pairs the tuned 1,089 cc four-cylinder with an overhauled manual gearbox from the D-series model and an overhauled rear axle. The braking system is uprated with Brembo front calipers and discs, and the car wears period Marchal auxiliary lamps, race suspension and sports wheels and tyres. The seller reports that the car has taken part in numerous national historic events and re-enactments, and discloses no defects. No historic certifications are mentioned on the seller's page.

The 1100/103 was Fiat's post-war family car in its most developed early form, and its light weight and simple mechanicals made it a natural club-racing base in period. Prepared cars that keep their full original mechanical set with them are rare, because the parts are usually separated from the car permanently.
