This 1951 Simca 8 Sport 1200 Coupe Special is finished in blue over a brown leather interior, showing 350 km on the odometer. Its 1,221 cc four-cylinder engine is rated at about 50 hp and is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox with a floor-mounted shift. The car holds ASI Gold Plate certification and a FIVA Identity Card, and it is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery.
The blue paintwork is set off by wire wheels. The lightweight aluminium body was built by Facel-Metallon in France, in the Farina design tradition, on Fiat-derived Simca mechanical components.
The interior is trimmed in brown leather. Equipment includes wire wheels, and the drive is through the rear wheels with drum brakes on all four wheels.
The seller reports that the car was imported into Italy in the 2000s and underwent a complete restoration, supported by full photographic documentation, completed in 2012, the year it was first registered in Italy. It has covered only 350 km since the restoration. In 2016 the ASI Commission awarded it Gold Plate certification, and a FIVA Identity Card was issued the same year.
After the restoration the car took part in three editions of the Vernasca Silver Flag, in 2013, 2014 and 2018. Chassis 913342.
The Simca 8 Sport was produced in small numbers in the early 1950s, in coupe and cabriolet forms, and the model recorded strong period competition results, including class success on the 1950 Monte Carlo Rally. This example combines the model's French construction and Italian design heritage with documented certification and a recorded restoration.
