This 1934 Fiat 508 Balilla Berlina is a four-door saloon finished in two-tone blue and black over a grey fabric interior, showing 21,350 km. Its 995 cc four-cylinder engine is rated at 24 hp and is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. The seller presents the car in excellent preserved condition, maintained continuously and carefully over the years. It is now offered by Open Air Imports with a 30-photo gallery.
The car was originally registered in Rome and later re-registered in Viterbo, and it retains its original black period registration plate. The seller reports that it comes with a valid biennial roadworthiness inspection and that it has been used until now by a collector owner.
The grey fabric interior is original in character, in keeping with the preserved presentation of the whole car. The seller obtained an ASI Historical Relevance Certificate for the car in 2024.
Mechanically the Balilla is rear-wheel drive with a top speed of about 80 km/h, as the seller notes. No specific defects are disclosed.
The 508 Balilla was the car that put interwar Italy on wheels, Fiat's small family saloon built in large numbers through the 1930s. Preserved four-door examples on their period plates, with certification, are increasingly hard to find.
